CMC University Welcomes and Collaborates with the Delegation from the University of Debrecen, Hungary

In the framework of its international development strategic plan, on the morning of June 1, 2023, CMC University welcomed and held discussions with a delegation from the University of Debrecen, Hungary. Both parties introduced their strengths and discussed potential cooperation directions in the future to create opportunities for research and learning exchanges for lecturers and students from both institutions.

Welcoming and working with the delegation from the University of Debrecen, Hungary, on the side of CMC University, the meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuong Vy – Vice Chairwoman of the University Council, Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung – Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Viet Vu – Head of Training Department; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Viet Thanh – Head of the Language and Culture Department, along with other officials and lecturers.

Representatives from CMC University took commemorative photos with the delegation from the University of Debrecen.

The delegation included Mr. Szaffkó Péter – Rector of the University of Debrecen Summer School, Mr. Nagy József – Senior Advisor to the Hungarian Parliament, and Mr. Nguyen Thai Duong – Interpreter.

The working session between representatives of CMC University and the University of Debrecen took place in a friendly and open atmosphere. Both sides exchanged ideas and reached agreements on various cooperation opportunities, focusing on areas such as student exchange and research collaboration.

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung expressed delight at the opportunity to welcome and work with the delegation. He praised the University of Debrecen’s reputation for education and its high rankings in Europe and the world. He also expressed the desire for both institutions to discuss new cooperation opportunities during the meeting.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung provided an overview of CMC Corporation’s capabilities, as well as the core values and strengths of CMC University in Vietnam’s higher education system. He highlighted the university’s fields of expertise, which include computer science, information technology, and business management.

During the meeting, Mr. Szaffkó Péter introduced the University of Debrecen and its achievements in education and research. He emphasized the university’s strength in language training. He also expressed pride in the university’s long history and its contributions to Hungary as a center for education, producing many renowned cultural, scientific, and political figures.

Opportunities for collaboration in education and scientific research between CMC University and the University of Debrecen  

Speaking about CMC University, the Rector of the University of Debrecen highly praised the university’s modern training programs and its technological strengths. After learning about the Language and Culture Department at CMC University, Mr. Péter expressed a desire for opportunities to facilitate language exchange and cooperation in language training between the two institutions. He proposed a program for CMC University’s Business Administration students to study for one year at the University of Debrecen. Additionally, he suggested connecting CMC University with leading Hungarian universities specializing in information technology.

One of the key topics discussed during the meeting was the collaboration to offer short-term Hungarian language training programs and future plans to establish a bachelor’s degree program in Hungarian language. The Rector of the University of Debrecen expressed the university’s readiness to offer scholarships to motivate CMC University students to participate in exchanges or study in Hungary. Moreover, at the suggestion of the delegation, CMC University will organize a scientific research workshop with the participation of internationally renowned professors from the University of Debrecen.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Szaffkó Péter extended an invitation to the leadership, officials, and lecturers of CMC University to visit the University of Debrecen and explore the living and working environment in Hungary in the near future.

During their visit to CMC University, the delegation from the University of Debrecen took the time to visit the campus, the library, and some classrooms for CMC University students. The Rector of the University of Debrecen, along with the Senior Advisor to the Hungarian Parliament, expressed their confidence in the modern and advanced learning environment at CMC University.

Through this meeting and exchange, the leadership of CMC University and the delegation from the University of Debrecen have achieved promising results for future cooperation, including plans for joint training programs. At the end of the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuong Vy, representing the leadership of CMC University, presented meaningful souvenirs to the University of Debrecen delegation and wished them a successful working trip.

The meeting and exchange between CMC University and the University of Debrecen are expected to open up more opportunities for CMC University students, providing them with an environment to access new cultures.
